Before attending the fact-checking masterclass, my understanding of fact-checking was quite superficial. I believed that the tools in this field were limited to professionals and generally inaccessible to the public. However, this training has equipped me with the skills to verify the authenticity of information, images, websites, and more. Now, I can actively combat disinformation, misinformation, and fake news.

The fact-checking training provided by AFCA equipped my team and me with valuable verification skills, especially using tools like Fotoforensics, CrowdTangle, and Whois. These tools have proven highly effective for monitoring social networks, verifying websites, and investigating image origins and keyword searches. The fellowship has enabled LaCloche Media to rebuild, reinvent itself, and strengthen its team while giving new impetus to fact-checking.
